Three of the Most Common Ultrasound Exams
If your doctor sends you for an ultrasound, don’t be surprised. It’s a common type of imaging that takes a peek inside your body and can help your doctor figure out what’s going on. Kidney ultrasound helps patients with back or flank pain discover if they have kidney stones. And a thyroid ultrasound is an important exam in diagnosing thyroid cancer. Here’s what you need to know about each and what to expect if your doctor says, “You need an ultrasound.”
