Digital Mammography

Digital mammography is an X-ray picture of the breast that allows early detection of breast cancer.

An annual screening mammogram is recommended for women beginning at age of 40, according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Breast Imaging (SBI). The American Cancer Society also recommends that women have the choice to begin mammography screening at age 40. For the complete, updated ACS guidelines, click here. Then, talk with your provider to find out what's best for you.

We also offer 3D mammogram (tomosynthesis) screenings.

Bone Density

A DXA bone scan is a fast, non-invasive bone mineral density exam that detect low bone mass and monitor the effects of bone mass therapy for patients with osteoporosis.

PET/CT exams help show changes in your body during the early stages of a disease. At this time, PET/CT is one of the most powerful tools in cancer diagnosis and staging.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine is a diagnostic tool in which images are created using a special camera that images organs and tissues in the body after administration of a radioactive “tracer” (radionuclide or radioisotope) to make them visible.

Ultrasound bounces high-frequency sound waves off parts of the body and captures the returning “echoes” as images. There is no radiation exposure or injections with this exam.

X-ray exams at EPIC Imaging – Gateway are quick and convenient. We are able to work patients in same-day in many cases but request a call ahead to verify insurance and wait times in order to make your experience as positive as possible.
