Learn more about these procedures

An arthrogram is an examination of a joint, such as a shoulder, hip, or wrist to help identify the source of pain. Contrast material (dye) is injected into the joint so that tissue structures are visible during an X-ray or MRI. A myelogram, on the other hand, is a diagnostic test to examine the spinal cord and identify the cause of back pain.
