Your wake-up alarm starts beeping incessantly. You groggily reach to turn it off and notice a sharp pain in your neck. It can happen to anyone. It may have happened to you. When Jennifer Wurscher woke up one day and couldn’t turn her head, she tried to figure out what had gone wrong. Sharad Chopra, MD, a neuroradiologist at CDI, says sudden neck pain can be caused by trauma, like a car accident. But sometimes as little as a sneeze or sleeping on it wrong can be to blame.
