Chief Clinical Officer, Musculoskeletal & Spine Radiologist
In January 2013, Thomas Gilbert, Jr., M.D., M.P.P. was named Chief Clinical Officer for CDI, overseeing quality initiatives for the organization’s national federation of radiologist partners and affiliates. He is actively involved in the business and operations for the organization, providing medical and clinical oversight to the CDI Quality Institute’s online RQM program, ICD-10 implementation and continuity of clinical documentation requirements to ensure seamless patient access to care.
Dr. Gilbert has served with many guidelines work groups to develop clinical appropriateness and quality metrics in radiology. Most recently, he worked with the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement’s (ICSI) as a low back pain expert on behalf of CDI, and the North American Spine Society (NASS) guidelines committee. Dr. Gilbert is leading CDI’s efforts for further development of care pathways. He is currently the national spine section leader and works as a radiologist in CDI’s Twin Cities market.
